Micro Bead I-tip
High quality 100% Remy Cuticle Correct Northern Asian, Human Hair with a keratin I tip bond. High quality Asian hair is a very popular type of extensions. It has been branded with a poor reputation due to the amount of low grade hair on the market, especially on online auction sites but it is actually an extremely durable hair type. It is quite course but as you get up into the high quality grade categories, it can also be soft to touch and have a brilliant shine. For clients with fine hair it may be best to stick to a type such as (European) mainly sourced from Russia, as these extensions will best match their hair type.
This method is applied with a silicon lined micro bead. We recommend this method as the safest method to prevent hair damage, if cared for correctly. A section of your own hair, that is approximately the same amount of hair as the extension you are applying, is carefully pulled through a loop tool with a micro bead threaded onto it (figure A+B+C). You must ensure that the amount of hair is equal to the extension strand weight, so that the added weight does not put a strain on your own hair, causing unwanted breakage. The silicon lining will prevent the bead from rubbing against your own hair causing damage over a long period of time.
A move up at approximately 6- 8 weeks is necessary to remove all the hair you have shed over that period and to re-position the bead back to around half a centimetre from your scalp. If you move the bead too close, the client will endure a great deal of pain until the bead has grown down to a comfortable distance from the scalp. Do NOT re-use a bead on a move up. The integrity of the bead has been undermined and your client deserves the quality of a brand new bead, as in many cases they are paying a fair amount of money.
The benefits of micro bead extensions is that you can reuse the extensions time and time again and if the tip frays, you can easily reform it to a perfect shape, with minimal effort. A heat connector is best used in this situation or even an old straightener, as it may get messy.
For a client with fine hair, positioning the beads is vital to ensure they cannot be seen. This will also depends on the style the client wants and it is a good idea to continually check that the beads are not visible while you are installing. Some clients with extremely fine hair may benefit from another method such as tape extensions to get a more natural look.
We currently stock our complete colour range in this method and we can also make any two tone colour you desire. If we re-shape the tip to make a two tone colour, we apply a non-toxic, water resistant harder to ensure it does not break down quickly, as the tip has been undermined.
